Location

Carawirry Log Cabins are hidden away among the trees on Cabbage Tree Forest Road at the end of the Main Creek Valley, about 16km's from Dungog.
We are around 200kms from Sydney and 70kms from Newcastle or Nelsons Bay.

Our Pricing structure is both unique and affordable. Infants Under 5 years Old "FREE!".We have 6 different stay periods to suit everybody:

1 - Weekend (2Night) - (Arive 4pm Friday, Depart 4pm Sunday).
2 - Weekend (3Night) - (Arive 4pm Friday, Depart 10am Monday).
3 - Midweek (4Nights) - (Arive 4pm Monday, Depart 10am Friday).
4 - Midweek (3Nights) - (Arive 4pm Mon/Tues, Depart Thur/Fri 10am).
5 - Midweek (2Nights) - (Arive 4pm Mon/Tues/Wed, Depart Wed/Thur/Fri 10am).
6 - Full Week - (Arive 4pm Anyday, Depart 10am 7days later).

Facilities

Enjoy living in the bush with the comforts of home.

Each cabin is a two story round pole log cabin and can comfortably sleep 8 people(cabin 2 can sleep up to 10). They have a Kitchen, Dinning area, Bedrooms, Bathroom (shower), Toilet, Wood Fire Lounge area, plus all-round verandas.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/ freezer, gas stove (4 burners, grill and oven),Microwave oven, all cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. A family size gas BBQ on the veranda.

The cabins are self contained accommodation, guests supply their own food. Carawirry will supply you with doonas, blankets, pillows, sheets and towels and pillow slips.

Activities

Excellent bird watching.
Bush walking throughout our nature reserve or just relax in the cool and quiet of the forest creeks.

The adjoining State Forest offers extended walks and drives to rivers, picnic areas, idyllic locations and walking into the Barrington National Park.

Relaxing on the veranda of your secluded cabin hideaway is one of our guests most favoured activities.

Hores riding is available at neighbouring "Top Line Riding Park". Suitable for all ages and abilities. Booking are esential prior to stay.

Or the streams and waterfalls so clear that the word crystal seems inadequate.

There are four main areas offering access to the diverse beauty of the forests of the Barrington Tops region. The experience of each is different and a single visit can grant only a glimpse of the depth and complexity of these natural wonderlands.

The unique quality of this region is reflected in its listing as a World Heritage Area - the closest such area to Newcastle, and one accessible even to those with limited mobility. Barrington Tops is the habitat of an enormous diversity of plant and animal life being at the northern extremity of the range for many southern Australian species as well as the southernmost extent for many more tropical species. More than fifty plants and animals of the Barringtons are listed as rare, threatened or endangered.
